Flower Varieties :: Peonies

The first week of June is the perfect time to show off the peony. Peonies have been a popular cut flower since ancient times. Their large lush blossoms are available in single, semi-double and double flower heads. Double Peonies are sometimes called "Bomb Peony" because of the explosion of petals upon opening. Vase life varies from 7 to 10 days depending on bud stage and environmental conditions.
Available colors include yellow, crimson red, light pink, medium pink, hot pink and white and peach.
The growing season is rather limited. They are grown locally in Colorado from mid-May to mid-July. They are imported from the Southern Hemisphere in November & December.
