Rentals - Ficus Trees

A great way to add ambiance to a room is to bring in ficus trees. We offer both fresh and silk ficus trees. Shown here are our silk trees filled with white lights and are about 7' tall.
Please contact us about these rentals and other trees that are available!

Flower Inspiration :: Hanging Chuppah

I loved this Hanging Chuppah from a wedding we worked on at The Botanic Gardens. The space that hold the ceremony wasn't huge and there were quite a few guests to seat. The space saving idea? Hanging Chuppah!

Vendor Profile :: Event Site - Boettcher Mansion

How about for this Vendor Friday we profile an event site? First time I've blogged about a event site for the spotlight. I think Boettcher Mansion is a great place to start!
Are you looking for a mansion for your wedding or event, perhaps a mansion that gives you that rustic Colorado feel without driving hours into the mountains? If so, take a look at Boettcher Mansion, it is located in Golden. It's beautiful, rustic, unique and the real deal with an amazing history.
We've worked on so many weddings at Boettcher, each one having it's own feel and theme.
Here's the mansion's information:

Happy Earth Day from Bella Fiori!

A question we often hear from brides is: What elements can we incorporate that are friendly to our planet?

First, let's look at centerpieces. How about potted plants instead of fresh-cut flowers? Plants grown locally which your guests can take home and enjoy?

Here is an orchid. These are grown locally, not too far from our studio.

Lucky bamboo is another option, many guests enjoy taking these centerpieces home.

Second: favors. One of my favorite favors are tree saplings, so cute & rustic in their burlap sacks!

Third, try to use fresh flowers grown locally. As for fresh cut flowers, we do work closely with Stevens and Son.
"Stevens and Son Wholesale Florist is the largest grower of Asiatic and Oriental Lilies in the Rocky Mountain region. We grow over 20 varieties of Asiatic Lilies and 10 varieties of Oriental Lilies. We also grow Alstroemeria, Dahlias, Freesia, Iris, Snapdragons, Sunflowers, Tulips, and other seasonal flowers in our 100,000 square foot greenhouse located in Arvada, Colorado."

Vendor Profile :: Photographer - Autumn Burke

Vendor Friday! Autumn Burke, what can I say? She's an amazing photographer! Autumn and I have worked together for the past few seasons. Her personality is awesome, she is so relaxed and calm. Perhaps this is why we get along so well? I find Autumn and I work with the same wedding planners - Debbie @ Save The Date & Weddings By Norie. We laugh that we all work together since we all have the same demeanor. :)

Autumn was kind enough to take photos of Bella Fiori's open house in October 2008. She also took all the photos for our website: bouquetsbybellafiori.com. Autumn and Bella Fiori have been featured in Premier Bride together. We've worked on numerous weddings, all with cool brides!
Recently Autumn opened a studio near Wash Park in Denver, it is absolutely adorable and you will often see flowers created by Bella Fiori in her shop.
Seriously, she rocks! Contact her at:

Flower Inspiration :: An elegant & timeless wedding.

I love this elegant wedding. The ceremony took place at the Chapel at DU and the reception was held at the Pinnacle Room at The Hyatt downtown.

A HUGE thank-you to L'amour de Vie and Paige Eden Photography who provided these lovely images to us!

Liz carried a hand-tied bouquet of vendela and laguna roses, white freesia, waxflower and bouvardia.

The aisle was decorated with arrangements of burgundy dahlias, vendela & laguna roses, wax flower and greenery which were attached with cream ribbon.

Photos of the beautiful table settings. I love the entire look, chiavari chairs, floor length linens with a gorgeous gold leaf pattern overlay and ivory napkins.
The centerpieces is just right for the very elegant look, a hurricane and candle surrounded by a wreath of flowers. The flowers include black magic roses, waxflower, green hydrangea, burgundy dahlias, vendela & laguna roses.

Shop News :: The dogs

Matisse & Johann sure have loved our new shop. Ok, perhaps it isn't that new of a shop anymore, we have been there for 8 months now. I thought the girls and I enjoyed our new larger space ... we don't even compare to the dogs! They have so much more room to run around with their toys. :)

Meeting with your wedding florist

Information you need when meeting your wedding florist :
It is best to have a list of what you will need already prepared for your florist.

Personal Flowers:
Bridal bouquet; the style that you prefer, colors of flowers and ribbon.
Number of bridesmaids & junior bridesmaids; style that you prefer, colors of flowers and ribbon.
Number of flower girls; will they carry a basket, drop petals, carry a pomander, wear a halo?

Number of corsages needed for mothers, grandmothers, aunts, readers, gift book, important female family members, etc. Will they wear a pin-on, wristlet or carry a tussy-mussy? What colors for the flowers and the ribbon.
Number of boutonnieres for groom, groomsmen, fathers, ushers, grandfathers, ring-bearers, minister, etc. Which flowers would you like to use?

What would you like for your ceremony?
Altar arrangements or an arch to decorate the front
Petals for the aisle
Decor for the unity candle
Pew decorations. The style for these and how many you will need. You can decorate every row, every other row or every third row. Also, you can just get enough pew decorations to mark the parents' rows.

What would you like for the reception?
How many guests tables will you have?
What type of centerpieces are you envisioning? Elevated or low & lush arrangements, floating flowers, floating candles, pillar candles? Scattered rose petals always add great texture to the table and looks great around a grouping of pillar candles.
Cake flowers? Would you like flowers to decorate the cake? How about flowers or petals on the table surrounding the cake?
Sign-in table. Would you like to match the centerpieces or do something a bit different?
Will you have cocktail tables? If so, either a cluster of votive candles or one vase with a floating flower will work great.
Buffet decor. Be sure to speak with your caterer first and see if ordering a floral arrangement will work out well with the buffet they are designing.
Will the wedding party sit at a head table? Would you like to decorate the front of the head table? Quite often we suggest working the bridal/bridesmaids bouquets into the decor on the head table. Candles work great, too.

Be sure to ask your floral designer how much they will charge for set-up and delivery. And, don't forget about added sales-tax. You may also need to inquire about the pick up of rentals after the wedding ceremony and reception end. Also, ask how they book dates, do you need to pay a deposit and how much is it? When is your final balance due? Does the florist have a contract for you to sign?
A few things to consider before your consultation... what are your favorite flowers and fragrances? Have you selected a color scheme? Pictures from magazines of flowers and arrangements that you like can be helpful.

Flower Inspiration :: Green Cymbidium Orchids

I've been asked which flower is my favorite, honestly I don't have just one favorite .. and impossible decision. "One" of my favorites is the green cymbidium orchid. Such a beautiful flower. The green cymbidium orchid has been quiet popular the past few wedding seasons. We often seen them used in bridal bouquets, as a hair flower, corsages and centerpieces.
Here a few pieces we've designed with green cymbidium orchids:

Vendor Profile :: DJ - Jeff Donovan

Hello Vendor Friday!

Need a cool DJ for your wedding or event? I'd highly suggest you give Jeff Donovan a call at 303.885.6657 or click here to see his website:
DJ On Demand

Jeff provided the music for Bella Fiori's vendor party in October 2008. I gave Jeff freedom with the music and he surprised me with a wonderful selection of music - every song had either the word roses or flowers in the title. :)

A Message from Jeff…

I love and live for music. And I love helping celebrate the special events in people’s lives, whether they are getting married, recognizing anniversaries, treating valued employees to a special event, or raising funds for a worthwhile cause.

Since 1997, I have been serving metro Denver and the I-70 corridor with the music and entertainment they need to make events a success. In creating custom-tailored musical entertainment for hundreds of weddings, corporate and private parties, I’ve developed the strengths you can depend on. When you hire me, you get solid experience, an understanding of what makes an event successful and a good reputation.

The Oxford Hotel Bridal Showcase

We enjoyed working at The Oxford Hotel Bridal Showcase last night!
My team worked in the Theatre Room. Here is the ceremony area:

The entry sign with all the vendor logos - we worked with: T'DA, Dramatic Events, A&A Photography, Kelley Kakes and A Music Plus.

The fun linen on the cocktail tables:

Lounge furniture on the upper level of the Theatre room:

Another shot of the ceremony site:

The bridal bouquet of green & white parrot tulips with a collar of Pieris Buds.

Above the entry doors in the ceremony area - we added cylinders with floating candles and more green and white flowers. A great way to soften these areas.

The cool cake by Kelley Kakes! Love it!
