Good-bye 2009

What a year... what a year. 2009 had the extreme ups & downs that occur from time to time. Let's reflect on some of the highlights of this past year:

~ In January I was awarded a scholarship through ISES to attend The Special Event in San Diego, CA.
~ In January Devon to Harrison's wedding was featured in Premier Bride magazine.
~ In September we were featured with Julie Gambrell of Classic Creations in Bride & Bloom magazine. I love this magazine and being part of it means the world to me!
~ Bella Rents launched in October!
~ In December two of our weddings were featured in The Knot Colorado - Anna & Sam and Iris & Jeff.
~ We are ending the year today with a sultry red wedding, lots of candles, lots of roses, lots of petals. I'm glad to be ending the year with such a beautiful wedding!

I can't put a date on it but, one of the highlights of this year was joining twitter. Yes, twitter! How could a social media website be a highlight of my year? I've met so many amazing people here in Denver and from West Coast to East Coast and Internationally! You can follow me at: bellafiorievent

We had the extreme pleasure of work on many amazing weddings this year - with very amazing brides & grooms. Thank you for letting us be part of your special day!
Here are just a few of my favorites:
Krystal & Ben
Stacey & Chris
Jen & Dan
Kate & Drew

And, well, I don't care to focus on the not so great parts of 2009, so those we'll just let rest. However, I do feel it is important to mention that it is time to bid adieu to Sarah as today marks her last day with Bella Fiori. Sarah has been with us for almost 2 years and it is time for her to spread her wings and move on. We'll miss her terribly. :(

Vendor Profile :: Jared Wilson Photography

This year I have met a new photographer, his name is Jared Wilson and he's pretty darn cool! He, Julie Gambrell of Classic Creations and myself have worked together on a few weddings plus a photo shoot for Bride & Bloom magazine.
One of the coolest things about Jared - he sends CDs of photos from our weddings extremely quickly! Of course, I always post the photos on the blog immediately so that I can share his work with all of you!!

I like this photo of the bridal bouquet being held in the aspen tree branches:

The photo from the Bride & Bloom magazine:

My absolute favorite photo that Jared has taken. It looks magical with the lights in the garden arch behind the cake cutting. Amazing photo!

The Knot Magazine - Iris & Jeff

Michelle & I were surprised to see Iris & Jeff's wedding in the latest issue of The Knot. As I mentioned yesterday, I knew that Anna & Sam were going to be featured, I had no idea Iris & Jeff's wedding would also be shown! Michelle was the lead designer on Iris & Jeff's wedding and she was tickled pink when she saw this spread.
Here's the article:

I loved this wedding and had the great pleasure of working with Heather of Calluna Events and Jamee Photography.

Flower Inspiration :: Jess & Mike's Breckenridge Wedding

We had the pleasure of designing flowers for Jess & Mike's wedding at their private home in Breckenridge. The colors Jess selected were dark purple, bright orange and lime green. She had a great time picking up containers from Anthropologie and canning jars from all sorts of sources. We filled all her containers with flowers, a bit on the wildflower side yet still distinct in colors.
The weather was perfect & we had a great team to work with - Debbie from Save The Date Events, Alaneyer from Occasions by Sandy Catering & Paige Elizabeth Photography.

Fun chalkboards told guests what they were about to enjoy, we decorated them all with blossoms:

Vendor Profile :: Dramatic Events

Finally - vendor profile Friday is back!
Michelle Gillette of Dramatic Events is awesome! Her assistant Katie is also awesome!
I've known Michelle for over 5 years and we've worked together on numerous weddings - weddings that have taken us to the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Ft. Collins, Vail & Beaver Creek, The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs and as far south as Dunton Hot Springs outside Telluride and, of course, lots of weddings in Denver!
To pick photos from our weddings is pretty difficult as there have been so many. I selected a few here that haven't been seen by many (Our Dunton wedding is being posted separately) :

Flower Inspiration :: Buell Mansion

Angela & Robert's wedding took place at Buell Mansion in Cherry Hills Village, what a lovely location. The mansion is beautiful and the garden out back is a perfect setting for a ceremony under the tree and a tent nearby for the reception. Footers Catering provided the amazing food and service.
I enjoyed working closely with Leslie, Robert's mom, and Angela. The look is garden style with a bit of Colorado mixed in - hence the branches. Very sweet hues of pinks, greens and ivories achieved the soft garden style - roses, cymbidiums, sweetpeas, hanging amaranthus, hypericum berries, snapdragons and touches of greenery.
Dusty from Volkel Image was kind enough to send over a disc of images from the wedding, thanks Dusty! Here are the photographs he took:

Flower Inspiration :: Meadow Creek Lodge & Event Center

I knew I wanted to work with Krystal the first time I talked to her, I fell in love with her vision immediately. If you like hot pink, fuchsia & magenta then you'll fall in love her her vision too! Krystal & Ben's wedding took place at Meadow Creek Lodge and Event Center in Pine, Colorado.
We had a great team to work with - Debbie from Save The Date Events, Alaneyer from Occasions By Sandy Catering and Candy Apple Photography.
You are about to be treated to an amazing amount of photos by Candy Apple Photography. It took me about an hour to pour through the photos .. and it's going to be hard to decide which ones to post on the blog!
Let's start with Krystal and her bridal bouquet. Yes, it's big! It's lush with a variety of phalaenopsis orchids, Yves Piaget garden roses, peonies, hints of mint and little gem butterflies:
