I think you'll pretty easily guess what Amanda's favorite flower is when you look at this post. However, Amanda presented me with an interesting request when we first met - she LOVES sunflowers & she is having her wedding at the modern and clean lined art gallery in Boulder called Rembrandt Yard. Typically sunflowers are seen in a field, outdoor style wedding, how are we going to use them in a modern design?
Amanda carried a hand-tied bouquet of sunflowers with feverfew added in. Her bridesmaids carried just sunflowers wrapped with a big, satin chocolate brown ribbon.
Here's our first taste of going modern with the sunflowers. Tall rectangular vases filled with a bouquet of sunflowers and surrounded by monstera leaves.
Sunflowers as the escort card:

Amanda & I created this centerpiece, how to display sunflowers in a clean & modern way? Here's a good way:
Amanda was a great bride to work with and I share her love of sunflowers!

Flower Inspiration :: Red Rocks Trading Post
Kathryn was one cool & hip bride that we worked with last summer.. she gave me a lot of freedom with designing her wedding. Her colors were green, purple and white and the look was contemporary. Her reception take place at Walker Fine Art gallery in the Golden Triangle of Denver.
Here are photos of her altar pieces, her ceremony took place at Red Rocks Trading Post:
We filled the tall vases with green glads and bells of Ireland then topped it off white white dendrobrium orchids & the unity candle was decorated with green cymbidiums and white peonies:

Flower Inspiration :: Donovan Pavilion, Vail
Here's a light, airy, feminine and sweet wedding.. Kristie loves elevated arrangements full of hydrangea, Asiatic lilies and roses, this is what we made for her:
We alternated tables with a few lower centerpieces of hydrangea, sweetpeas, roses and cymbidium orchids:
We went a little contemporary and clean style for the sign-in table, three wired cymbidiums submerged in water:

Flower Inspiration :: The Flagstaff House in Boulder
My idea of flower inspiration -- rectangular tables filled with flowers and candles down the center. Especially when those centerpieces contain hydrangea & Phalaenopsis orchids! Throw in a few of my favorite white garden roses, cymbidium orchids and fringed tulips and we are all set!
Check out the centerpieces from this summer-time beauty of a wedding reception at The Flagstaff House in Boulder:
Chad made the dark brown rectangular boxes for us, we filled them with hydrangeas and Phalaenopsis for the head table:
The round tables had a collection of clear glass cube vases each holding one type of flower - polo roses, fringed tulips, Phal. stems & cymbidium blooms:
The guests tables had arrangements of hydrangea and either roses or tulips:
Cocktail table arrangements, three vases each with a peony:

Flower Inspiration :: Fossil Trace
I'm finishing off red & white inspiration week with a modern wedding we created on Fossil Trace Golf Course in Golden Colorado.
The centerpieces definitely went for the modern/simple look:
The bride carried a bouquet of red roses, callas & coxcomb, we embellished it with lily grass loops and crystals and wrapped rolled ti leaves as a collar, we finished it with a lily grass wrap (no ribbon):
And the cake, we filled it with roses and added charms on silver wire for embellishment:
